"A well designed and organized closet is a joy to the room it serves"
-Erik Bittner
What a difference some drawers make
This is 1/2 of an infill into an otherwise nondescript, non-functional closet in an older home. The client did not need hanging space as much as she needed some drawers and shelves. The closet was just deep enough to put full length 24" deep drawers, and even though the closet didn't change size, what she was able to store was dramatically increased. The material is a plastic laminate over plywood, instead of the usual particle board. It's a little stronger, and weirdly, feels warmer to the touch than the usual closet material. Closet in a bed Beds are usually not closets, but this king sized bed allowed for drawers to be placed along both sides and the ends. The tall cabinet has the hanging space the client wanted. There is a cubby just visible by the pillow with a charging station for phones. To see more, click here. |
Really, really built in closet
This 3rd floor fit-out is not only a great example of what custom can do, but also a great installation by Wendell Klein Builders. Nothing in this room is straight, square or plumb, but the cabinets are perfectly installed.
